RPA- The Need Of Near Future Hour In Testing World

RPA is defined as …

It’s true, there is competition everywhere these days and by that, I mean in, really every field we can imagine. In the IT industry, organizations are facing an unending challenge of speedy movement while managing the operational costs and simultaneously increasing their service-offering quality and customer’s satisfaction.

Companies are still stuck about how can attain the best speedy operational output without hiring more and more staff since more staff would take up a big chunk from the profits for their extra hours.

Ever considered about attenuating such challenging situations, by opting for Robots?

Yes, here is exactly where RPA - Robotic Process Automation tools (Robots) come into play. These robots emulate all the manual steps exactly in the manner that a normal user would perform them across the applications through UI entries. These tools work by plotting a rule-based workflow process that the ‘robot’ can finally follow.

Working with these RPA Robots could be as easy as uploading batch file to, as tuff as perceptive automation that includes abilities of self-learning and processing different formats.

Processes can be automatically or even manually initiated to do the following tasks:

  • Filling in data throughout various systems and their modules
  • Executing scheduled queries and do data reunion
  • Distributing valid reports generated
  • Conducting Audit on a huge volume of data
  • Activating the down-stream processes and activities

How does RPA differ from other automation tools of an enterprise?

In disparity to all other traditional IT- solutions available, RPA provides the organizations with a facility to perform automation at a reduced cost and time which would just be a fraction of the previous ones faced.

RPA has non-interrupting nature. It facilitates the current infrastructure without creating any disturbance in existing systems, that might actually prove to be costly and tuff to replace.

RPA has taken away around 20% to 40 % of heavy workload from the employees by giving them aid of automation. This has saved the employees focus hours to let them perform more value-added tasks.

How RPA (Robotic Process Automation) works?

RPAs are actual robots which, as described earlier, can imitate most of the human-like actions. They can perform tasks like logging in into applications, copy-pasting data, moving folders and files, filling forms, extracting data out of documents which may be structured or semi-structured, and do a lot more.

Vast benefits of RPA solutions:

Now comes the part for which we had been going through the articles. The reasons why an organization should opt for RPA solutions lie mainly in the vast range of benefits it provides at different levels. Ranging from the Customer satisfaction to compliance benefits to the organization itself, these benefits can be categorized into the following manner.

i. Customer satisfaction

Fewer or no errors in data entry and other manual entries: Since the machines are not distracted by the outer environment in the way humans do, hence, the chances of making errors is very near to 0% in case of RPA solutions.

However, extreme scenarios, excluded from predefined test cases may easily cause the RPA robots to be defective or even crash. But we can ensure perfect functioning of these bots by maintaining a regular check on the negative scenarios or any kind of extreme scenarios that may happen in the timeline.

Sped up services provided: In this world of machines, we all know we cannot find people who can match or be faster than machines. No doubt, these RPA bots can work at sonic speed without any breaks.

ii. Analytics

Better data quality: Fewer errors definitely means better data quality helping the analysis to the further level by making it more reliable.

Huge data collection scope: RPA robots are clearly capable of working with inherited systems exposing the data that could otherwise prove to be very tiring for human force and hence helping out the analysis team the most.

Workload reduced: The analysis team gets the biggest facility of easily getting customized analysis. So they can devote more of their time focussing on making more properly managed analysis.

iii. HR

More employee satisfaction: RPA bots can easily carry out many repetitive manual tasks like copy-pasting data within systems hence saving employees from mundane tasks to keep employees satisfied as they utilize their time learning new things instead of just copy-pasting type work.

Reduced whip: when you have these bots ensuring you the best performance, you will definitely be having teams with the smaller yet more satisfied workforce to manage. Hence, this would reduce your churn in the long run.

Reduced employee hiring costs: There is an indirect yet strong effect of having the employees that stay on the company’s branding and easy hiring.

iv. Compliance

Less human interaction, fewer frauds: The RPA bots reduce the human involvement to its minimum and prevent the sensitive data from any kind of future frauds.

Maintaining audit footmarks: Every audit trail is maintained by these bots which can save the organization in case any issue occurs.

Conclusion

If the Company is wise enough to figure out their business process steps and the most appropriate tasks to be automated, then these RPA robots can help such companies to pace up in the competitive world with the help of proper planning, automation, and an efficient workforce.
